Bulls fans and NBA fans unite we are witnessing the birth of an NBA star. Some say it began on a Saturday night in Phoenix. It was like Rose needed a reason to become selfish and he got one that night. Rose and his management group decided to donate $1,000 for every point he scored. That night he went for 32 points capped off by a thunderous dunk on Goran Dragic. Derrick, it seemed wanted to put a stamp on his arrival.

On the season, the 21-year-old Rose is averaging 19.8 points and 5.8 assist. However, over the last month, he is averaging 23 ppg and 6.4 assist. Over that stretch the Bulls have went 10-5. With six over the victories coming on the road five of which were in a row.  In those victories and the loses Rose has demanded the ball down the stretch and has made key plays.

Rose began his path to stardom winning the Rookie of the Year last season. The Bulls and Rose held the basketball world captive with their thrilling playoff series against the Boston Celtics. On February 14, Rose will make his All Star Game debut. Last season during All-star Weekend, he created a buzz by winning the Skills challenge in impressive fashion finishing with a monstrous dunk.  What the future holds for Rose is unclear but if he continues on this path, he is on his way to being a true NBA star.

Dear Chicago Bulls brain trust,

I am writing you because I think it's time for an intervention. Your carelessness and head up your assness is killing the Chicago Bulls. Last season I lead the crusade to fire John Paxson You kinda got that one right. He was promoted out of the picture. Now someone has to fix one of his other mistakes. Get Vinny out of the coach's seat. He has no clue what he is doing. The Bulls run one play over and over: screen and roll. A lot of teams run a screen and roll offense but those teams have the players to run the offense. Derrick Rose can not play effectively with with an entire team only guarding him. They never have proper floor spacing. Vinny is in over his head. It's not his fault that the Bulls were dumb enough to hire a coach who has never coached anywhere ever. It's time to right this wrong somebody has to do something. I expect before the end of the week for Vinny to be out of a job by the end of the week.

Sincerly,

A Pissed Off Bulls Fan

This was supposed to be his year. Best record in the league a well balanced team and an improved head coach. Everything seemed destined for LeBron James even NIKE began making commercials foreshadowing a Kobe LeBron finals. And just like the past 6 MVPs the curse struck again LeBron was eliminated from the playoffs. Not since the 02-03 season when Tim Duncan won MVP and led his team to a championship. Although, the MVP usually goes to the best player on the best team in the league this has not equaled playoff success. Only 4 times in the last 10 years has the MVP made it to the finals (Allen Iverson, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'neal, and Kobe Bryant.) Conversely the DPOY (Defensive Player of the Year) has made it 5 times over that same span. While only being successful twice. Last years MVP Kobe Bryant and the L.A Lakers looked poised to win a championship but failed against the DPOY Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics. The same thing happened this year when Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic eliminated LeBron's Cavs. Past award winners like Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash had little to no results in the playoffs. Dirk's Mavericks were actually upset in the first round of the playoffs by the 8th seed Golden State Warriors in 6 games. Steve Nash fared better with the Suns making it to the Western Confernce Finals twice. Kevin Garnett's T'Wolves also made it to the WCF before losing to the better team the LA Lakers. So does LeBron not making the finals this year tarnish his accomplishments? No not in the grand scheme of things but in today's impatient society that gives too much praise and too much blame to individual players almost is not good enough. LeBron now joins a long list of MVP's who's teams were not good enough to get the job done. There is no reason for LeBron to hang his head in shame but instead get in line behind the rest.

After last's nights train wreck of a 4th quarter two things became obvious Stan Van Gundy is in over his head and Dwight Howard doesn't demand the ball like a superstar should. Dwight's comments last night were on point. He stated, "You’ve got a dominant player,” begged "Let him be dominant." The frustration poured out of Howard like a the steam from a kettle. “I just think that I have to be more aggressive, run … demand the ball,” Howard said. That is a great idea the best player on the court demanding the ball. I think Howard may be on to something. But the blame is not 50/50 it is 70/30. Van Gundy as the coach is supposed to put his players in the best position to win. If you believe throwing up 3's without first dumping the ball into the post is a good strategy you Stan Van Gundy are an idiot. This will be the only time you hear me say this: I guess Shaq was right. "Flopping would describe his coaching," O'Neal said. "I know for a fact he's a master of panic and when it gets time for his team to go into the post-season and do certain things, he will let them down because of his panic," O'Neal said. "I've been there before. I've played for him."  Wow Shaq knocked that one right out of the park.

Whew! I think my heart rate has finally come back down to normal. If you don't know what I am referring to you must not have been watching the roller coaster ride that is Bull vs. Celtics. Before the series started I had the Bulls winning in 6. I always roll with my hometown squad. But I never envisioned such an epic battle. Both teams have left everything they have on the court. Both teams have hit big shots and missed even bigger shots.

Although the games have been exciting the games have not been played well. There have been some terrible coaching decisions mostly by Del Nergo but Doc Rivers has also had some bad moments. Also, the defense down the strecth has been lax to say the least at times. Perfect examples are the end of regulation in both game 5 and 6. Game 5 the Bulls had the honor of folding. Up double digits in the 4th they let up off the gas and Boston stormed back into the game. Game 6 the Bulls looked like they were going to be the ones to choke away the game up by 11 in the 4th. Boston then went on an 18 to 0 run. Taking the lead and control of the game. The game looked to be over and then Boston lost focus and the game. It isn't crisp basketball but it is entertaining.

Tomorrow is Game 7 and if it has half the excitment of the first 6 games I don't think my heart will make it.

D-Wade 4 MVP 04/13/2009

For the past few months everyone has been debating which of the big 3 would be the MVP. Does Lebron deserve it for his all around game on the best team in the league record wise? Does Kobe deserve it for being the best player in the world on a great team? Does D-wade deserve it for putting a team full of garbage on his back and leading them to the playoffs?

Now for myself I have been trumpeting D-Wade since December as the MVP. Every night since then he has done nothing to change my opinion. What D-wade is doing is EPIC. His numbers are as good if not better than Lebron's across the board. Although Kobe is having another steller season and should be a 3-time MVP this year isn't about him.

What you are going to hear from the experts is that LeBron has been so dominate and look at his teams record. Basketball goes deeper than that. Wade has to do it night in and night out just for his team to have a chance. He is doing it on both ends of the court. His steals and blocks stats are among the league leaders. And his on the ball defense is among the best in the league right now.

Lebron will probably get the award and in some regrads it is his time. His game has matured and it won't be a huge disappointment if he wins unlike past winner Steve Nash. This has been one of the best seasons in a long time and the league has great players everywhere. I think its safe to say the NBA is Fantastic.

This list is really biased. I still don't understand why Josh Smith's performance gets ignored or why  JR Smith's behind the back dunk isn't listed as a top dunk.

Kobe=G.O.A.T 02/03/2009

Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player in the world. Last night after learning that Andrew Bynum sources said "Kobe looked like he saw a ghost." Could it be the Ghost of Last Year's Finals? This was not supposed to be the fate of this year's Lakers. But here the Laker's were without their big man once again and here Kobe was once again.

Last night was just another page in the Book of Kobe. Putting up an array of different shots Kobe went out and broke every scoring record in MSG history even though this Knick squad is defensively retarded. Was this just Kobe being selfish or was this the best player in the world dominating. People like to tag him as a ball hog but over the past few years who would you rather have shooting? Where does the hate come from? Some of it comes from him being the Golden Boy in the NBA over the first few years in the league. Some of it is the faternity of people who feel like they have to keep Michael Jordan as the GOD of basketball. Then there are the people who feel like he pushed Shaq out the door. When in actually it was a mutal falling out. Recently Shaq even stated that the whole thing was just marketing. So really why hate Kobe?

They say numbers don't lie. So just look at Kobe's numbers well how about look at when he scores. There isn't a better player in the clutch than Kobe. If the game is on the line give the ball to KB24 and watch the Mamba strike. So this year after he wins his 2nd straight MVP which should be his 4th and leads his team to the finals. What are the haters gone to say then?

Tyrus Thomas get's busy all over Jermaine Oneal's head

Last night I watched the Chicago Bulls defeat the Cleveland Caviliers. While watching the game three things were evident

1.) LeBron James is unstopable

2.) Derrick Rose can get to the rim and finish any time he wants

3.) Tyrus Thomas has the "potential" to be an allstar.

Which brings me to my point Tyrus has the "potential" but has yet to show the signifacant progress. Tyrus' numbers are up this year and so is his impact but there are still too many nights where he isn't a factor. A lot of the time I believe it is the coach's fault chosing to g with Nochioni down the strech of games. Last night Tyrus showed me 3 key attirbutes he showed great on the ball defense on LeBron. He also showed he can make an open jumper and freethrows. The third thing was his ability to play with controlled energy. That is really the most important part of his game. When he plays with energy he is very effective. He is still a young player but that excuse goes away after this year.If he can improve his basketball IQ I expect big things from him. That's my .98 cent you an add your 2.
